Staff Correspondent:US ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat on Wednesday said she had a meeting with the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to realize the current political climate in Bangladesh mentioning that it was her responsibility.
The US envoy made the statement after over an hour long meeting with BNP chief at the BNP chairperson�s Guslhan office on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the BNP officials, the meeting began around 4:45pm and continued until 6:00pm. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other BNP officials joined the meeting.
Mentioning that she recently met with the secretary general of the Awami League Obaidul Quader, Bernicat said that It�s her responsibility to understand present political situation by meeting with different political parties in Bangladesh.
�As ambassador, it is my responsibility to understand the current political climate by meeting with various political parties.
