Biswa Ijtema 2nd phase begins
Staff Correspondent: The second phase of Biswa Ijtema has opened on Friday morning on the bank of the Turag River in Tongi of Gazipur district.
The 160-acre Ijtema ground is getting filled up with Muslim devotees coming from home and broad.
They are reaching by trains, buses, trucks, private cars and engine boats.
Leading Islamic scholars from India, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia and Iran on the first day of Iztema will deliver sermons on six basic principles of Tabligh Jamaat.
The sermons, to be delivered in various languages, will be translated into Bangla for local devotees.
The second phase of Ijtema will end through Akheri Munajat on Sunday.
Gazipur district administration and members of law enforcement authorities have taken all-out security measures in and around the Ijtema ground.
Water supply and sanitation facilities have been ensured for the devotees. Special measures have been taken to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Ijtema period.
A large contingent of RAB, police and other law enforcers has been deployed in Tongi to provide foolproof security to Muslim devotees.
Several healthcare centres have been set up in different parts of the venue. The centres are equipped with first aid and other treatment facilities and beds where doctors are ready to serve the devotees round-the-clock.
The first phase of Ijtema began on January 13 and ended on January 15.
