Staff Correspondent:After rejecting both the remand and bail prayers, a Dhaka court today sent Bangladesh spinner Arafat Sunny to prison in connection with the case filed for excruciating a 23-year-old woman, who claimed to be Sunny�s wife.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sarafuzzaman Ansari issued the order after Sunny was brought before the court in the case filed on February 2 by Nasrin Sultana under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
Sub Inspector of Mohammadpur Police Station Masudur Rahman, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, brought him before the court with a seven-day remand prayer.
In her complaint paper, Nasrin alleged that Sunny as per direction of his mother demanded money six months after Nasrin and Sunny got married on December 4, 2014. On Nasrin's refusal, Sunny and his mother Nargis Akhter verbally abused her and left her, she alleged.
