A student of Dhaka University drowned in a pond of Saheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall on the campus on Monday morning, UNB reports.
The deceased was identified as Jony, a 1st year student of Applied Chemistry department, and residential student of Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall, and resident of Noakhali district.
The young boy drowned in the pond while bathing along with two friends around 10.45am, said DU Proctor M Amzad Ali.
Later, after being recovered he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where on duty doctors declared him dead on arrival.
