Staff Correspondent:The fire at Gulshan-1 Dhaka North City Corporation market now has come under control after 15 hours. Businessmen fear the incident was an act of sabotage.
The market that houses over 600 shops caught fire around2:00amtoday. Fears are, most of the shops have been gutted. Around dawn, the part of the market that houses raw goods collapsed.
Last reported, 22 firefighters were working to douse the flames, Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence control room said. They were yet to ascertain the reason behind the fire.
