BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Friday said the government has begun taking ‘revenge’ against chief justice SK Sinha through conducting investigation into his income and expenditure.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a news briefing at the party's central office at Nayapaltan in the capital said reports were published in mass media that National Board of Revenue and Bangladesh Bank have opened probe into earning and expenditure of the chief justice.
Everybody thinks, Rizvi claimed, the inquiries about income and expenditure of the chief justice denotes beginning of the government's revenge when ‘storm of criticism’ raised in all quarters following attacking statements made by ministers and lawmakers against the chief justice after the Supreme Court verdict and its observations on the 16th amendment to the constitution.
The government has taken the principle of ‘scorched soil’ to keep the apex court subservient, the BNP leader said adding that the CJ is now in the ‘dock of Awami League’
