A Dhaka court on Tuesday put Sohel Mahfuz, supplier of bombs in the Gulshan café attack, on a three-day remand in connection to Kalyanpur raid.
Jasim Uddin, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka passed the order on Tuesday after he was brought before the court and sought into remand.
Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) inspector Md Jahangir Alam and the investigation officer (IO) of the case, begged him for a 10-day remand.
Earlier, Sohel Mahfuz was shown arrested in the case after the investigation officer submitted a petition. CTTC has so far held five other accused in regard with the case.
They are: Md Salahuddin Kamran, Md Rafiqul Hasan alias Regan, Mufti Maolana Abul Kashem, Jahirul Islam alias Jashim, Abdur Rauf Prodhan. Of them, Salahuddin, Regan and Abdur Rauf gave confessional statement before a magistrate.
Sohel who was known as an explosive expert, was remanded for 13 days in two phases. He was held from bordering Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on July 8.
