Staff Reporter:The High Court (HC) on Monday began its hearing on appeals filed by convicts including Oishy Rahman and on death references in the case filed over her parents' murder. A High Court division bench comprising Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain began hearing the matter.
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 on November 12, 2015, ordered death penalty to Oishy and her friend Mizanur Rahman Roni to two-year imprisonment and Taka five thousand fine over the murder of Oishy's parent's Special Branch (SB) of police inspector Mahfuzur Rahman and Swapna Rahman.
The tribunal formed individual charges over two murders and sentenced Oishy to death under both the charges.
Oishy filed appeals on December 6, 2015, asking for acquittal from both the charges.
