Hearing on 11 cases against Khaleda postponed

The Dhaka court on Tuesday postponed the hearing on 11 cases against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Judge Qamrul Hossain Molla of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge court issued the order and fixed May 22 for next hearing.

Khaleda’s lawyer Sanaullah Mia appealed for time petition as she could not appear before court due to her illness.

Of eleven cases, eight cases are filed with Mirpur Darussalam police station for subversive activities, a sedition case, an arson attack case and a murder case filed with Jatrabari police station.

On January 25, a former secretary of Supreme Court lawyer association Dr Momtazuddin Ahmed Mehedi filed the cases. In the cases, Khaleda appeared before the court in April 5 last year and got bail.
