Jamaat-backed BNP has again started conspiracy over the election

Awami League presidium member and central 14-party alliance spokesperson Mohammed Nasim on Sunday said BNP has begun hatching conspiracy over the next general election.

He came up with the remarks while speaking at a press conference emerging from a meeting of the 14-party alliance at the Awami League president's political office in the capital.

Quoting the minister BSS said, "It is clearly written in the constitution how national election will be held. Despite that, Jamaat-backed BNP has again begun conspiracy over the election."

Nasim, also minister for health and family welfare, said if BNP hatch any conspiracy over the next general election like the previous one held on January 5 in 2014, Awami League with thousands of leaders and workers will take to the street.

Awami League (AL) joint general secretaries Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif and Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organizing secretaries Ahmad Hossain and Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Worker Party general secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal convener Md Rezaur Rashid Khan and Gano Azadi League general secretary Ataullah Khan, among others, were present on the occasion.

The alliance spokesman said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will stay chief of the election-time government in 2019.

He said any foreign organizations or country have no right to prescribe over the election.

"Next election will be held under the Election Commission in a free, fair and neutral manner," he hoped.

About the 2017-18 budget, the minister said it will be possible to turn the country into the higher middle-income country through implementing the budget.

"The country did not witness such a large size of budget earlier.

The budget reveals that the country's economy has become stronger and people's purchasing capacity has increased," he observed.

About the cyclone "Mora", the minister said the coastal people have escaped from massive causality because of government prior evacuation measures.
