Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday said, my mother always encouraged my father to do politics for the people of this country.
The premier also said, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa was the source of all encouragement, power and courage for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to work for the development and betterment of the people of this country, UNB reports.
"My mother always encouraged him to do politics for the people of this country, never pulled him back, never cared about her own interests, even she never thought what she would get in her life," the premier added.
The Prime Minister was addressing a function marking the 87th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa at Osmani Memorial Hall in the city on Tuesday.
