Staff Correspondent:The high Court on Wednesday granted four pleas filed by Narayanganj 7-murder death-row convicts Nur Hossain and sacked army officer Tarek Sayeed Mohammad challenging the trial court's verdict.
A joint bench of justice M Enayetur Rahim and justice Shahidul Karim accepted the appeals for hearing.
The court also fixed same day for the hearing on the death reference and the appeal.
The court also stayed the hearing on Nur Hossain and Tarek Sayeeds fine till then.
On January 16, a Narayanganj court ordered Nur Hossain, a councillor of the Narayanganj city, to death penalty in the murder case. It also awarded death penalty to sacked commanding officer of Rab-11 Tareque Sayeed Mohammad and Major Arif and 23 others.
