A Chittagong court on Thursday sent three Bangladesh Railway officials in jail for four years in two corruption cases.
The convicts are former general manager of railway Yusuf Ali Mridha, Senior Welfare Officer Golam Kibria and former additional chief engineer Hafizur Rahman.
Divisional Special Judge, Mir Ruhul Amin, passed the order.
The court also fined each Tk 10,000, in default, they will serve three more months in jail.
Five others were acquitted as they were found not guilty.
On September 13, 2012, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the two corruption cases with Kotwali Police Station in Chittagong against them.
