Ramadan office timing from 9 am to 3:30 pm

The government has fixed the office timing during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan from 9 am to 3:30 pm on every working day.

The cabinet on Monday decided the government office timing at a meeting, held with the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the Prime Minister's Office in the city, said Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam at a briefing after the meeting.

The Cabinet Secretary said there will be a 15-minute break from 1:15pm to 1:30pm for Zohr prayer. The new timing will be effective for all the government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions, he said.

Shafiul Alam said the Supreme Court, hospitals, banks, insurance agencies, emergency services providing organisations will fix up their own office timings.
