Students clash with police at Shahbagh

The students of newly associated seven government colleges with Dhaka University clashed with cops as the law enforcers impeded them while staging demonstration to implement their demands at Shahbagh intersection in the city on Thursday.

Witnesses said the students of seven government colleges started coming to the street around 10:00am, demanding declaration of schedule for their examinations.

The seven colleges are Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnessa Government Girls' College, Government Bangla College, and Government Titumir College.

At one stage, police impeded them and asked them to remove from the road.

A tussle happened between the college students and the police personnel during the demonstration.

Police lobbed teargas shells and fired rubber bullets to disperse them, leaving three students wounded.
