After Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, another special assistant professor of the chief advisor. Md. Saidur Rahman has resigned. He was serving as Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the rank of Minister of State.
The chief adviser’s press wing confirmed the matter on Tuesday night. The Cabinet Department has issued the necessary notification in this regard.
According to the notification, the special assistant professor in charge of exercising executive power in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Interim Government at the rank of State Minister. Md. Saidur Rahman’s resignation has been accepted by the President.
Notably, in November last year, the chief adviser to the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, appointed three people as special assistants in the rank of state ministers. They work with the assistance of advisors from the Home, Health and Education Ministries and are also given executive powers of the concerned Ministries.
Among these three special assistants, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khoda Baksh Chowdhury was given the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Professor Dr. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice Chancellor of the Health Ministry was given the responsibility of the Ministry of Health. Md. Saidur Rahman and the responsibility of the Ministry of Education was given to Professor M Aminul Islam.
Professor M Aminul Islam resigned a few months ago. Later, on December 25, Khoda Baksh Chowdhury resigned as Special Assistant to the Home Ministry. The last professor Dr. Md. With the resignation of Saidur Rahman, all the three special assistants have left their duties.
