Duti Aranya Chowdhury (Preeti) leader of Jatiya Nagrik Party (NCP) has announced to withdraw from the 13th National Assembly elections. He was a candidate for the position of Member of Parliament for Sirajganj-4 Ullapara Constituency.

He announced this decision in a press release sent to the media on Monday (December 29) evening.

The notification said, the NCP, which started its journey with the promise of new political settlement and moderation, promised independent, independent and pro-Bangladesh politics at the time of its birth, but the party has deviated from that ideal in recent decisions.

Dyuti Aranya Chowdhury said that ahead of the thirteenth election, the top leadership of the party repeatedly promised to participate in the election in 300 seats alone, but on December 28, it decided to conditionally participate in an 8-party alliance including Jamaat-e-Islami. He feels that grassroot level activists and candidates have been cheated.

He further said, “It is not possible for me to be a part of this alliance by sacrificing my morals and ideals and disrespecting the faith of the people.” Even if I got the party nomination, I would not participate in the election as a candidate of this alliance. In this situation, he declared himself inactive from all kinds of election activities of the party and said that he will take a final decision after reviewing the situation.

In the press release, he made it clear that his goal is not power politics, but protecting the rights of the people and establishing a new political culture. He also promised to speak for the new politics and oppressed people forever.

Notably, Dutee Aranya Chowdhury is serving as the Northern Regional Organizer of Jatiya Nagrik Party and Senior Joint Member Secretary of National Youth (NCP).
