Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights on the Dhaka-Riyadh route until October 17 due to the closure of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This information was announced by Biman Bangladesh Airlines in a press release issued on Monday (October 12).
The press release stated that all Biman flights from Dhaka to Riyadh have been suspended until October 17, Bangladesh time, due to the cessation of operations at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. Further decisions regarding the suspended flights and new schedules will be communicated in due course.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has expressed sincere regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to passengers by the flight suspension. The airline has also requested passengers’ patience and cooperation during this situation.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the airport’s operations have ceased due to a series of attacks by Houthi rebels on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport. Consequently, Bangladeshi expatriates and other passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia are facing significant difficulties.
Flight operations from Dhaka to Riyadh have been suspended since last Saturday. Furthermore, with air communication between Riyadh and Dhaka halted, flights from Dhaka to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, are also experiencing disruptions.
