After three consecutive declines in the domestic market, the price of gold has increased once again. The price of the finest quality, or 22-carat, gold has been raised by BDT 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams). Consequently, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold, including VAT, has now reached BDT 230,772.

The new prices came into effect from 10 AM on Wednesday (September 30). The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced this information through a press release.

BAJUS stated that the new gold prices were determined due to an increase in the price of gold bullion in the local market. The decision to raise prices was made during a meeting of BAJUS’s Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Wednesday. Subsequently, the new prices were announced in a statement signed by the committee’s Chairman, Dr. Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin.

Prior to this, on September 26, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold was reduced by BDT 1,691. This was followed by another reduction of BDT 2,158 on September 28. Overall, the price of 22-carat gold had decreased by a total of BDT 6,065 over three consecutive instances.
