Sarah Cook, the UK High Commissioner to Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The meeting took place on Sunday (October 4) at the Prime Minister’s Office within the Cabinet Division, located at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
During the meeting, they discussed various aspects of the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United Kingdom, as well as issues of mutual interest. Emphasis was placed on strengthening and diversifying the historical and friendly ties between the two nations.
Views were exchanged on enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including trade and investment, economic cooperation, education, skills development, migration, and human resource development.
They also discussed the continuation of the UK’s cooperation in Bangladesh’s economic development and progress. Furthermore, possibilities for further expanding the scope of trade and investment between the two countries in the future were exchanged.
During the meeting, both the Prime Minister and the British High Commissioner expressed hope for further advancing the friendly relations between Bangladesh and the UK and exploring new areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir and other relevant officials were also present.
