BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that after a long time the people of the country have regained their right to vote. Time has come to take advantage of this opportunity and form a democratic and people’s government.
He said these things while talking to reporters after submitting nomination papers for Thakurgaon-1 seat on Monday (December 29) afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul said that he has been nominated by BNP as a candidate for Thakurgaon-1 seat in the 13th National Assembly elections to be held on February 12. For this he expressed his gratitude to party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and acting chairman Tarek Rahman.
He also said that he is thanking the Most Merciful God. Mentioning that he got the opportunity to serve the people of this area, he said, if elected with the love and support of the people, he will devote himself to the overall development of Thakurgaon region.
BNP Secretary General said, if elected, special importance will be given to the development of the social environment of the area, improvement of the quality of educational institutions, improvement of socio-economic conditions and expansion of economic activities. Besides, priority will be given to employment generation and solving various problems of farmers.
Calling upon the people of Thakurgaon, Mirza Fakhrul said, “Like before, if you support me this time and vote for rice seeds, then I will try my best for the development of this region.”
Expressing optimism, he said, people will spontaneously vote for the symbol of paddy.
Enthusiasm has been observed among the BNP leaders and workers in the district commissioner’s office premises centered on the filing of nominations. At this time, necessary security measures were taken by the administration to keep the law and order situation normal.
