The top US military official believes that further military operations in Iran could backfire, and achieving President Donald Trump’s declared goals through air strikes alone would be difficult.
This information was reported by CNN, citing three sources familiar with General Caine’s recent discussions.
According to the report, over the past few weeks, General Caine has discussed military options for the conflict and their potential consequences with several key officials in the Trump administration, including CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance.
A source directly told CNN, ‘Caine is looking for a way out.’
The sources claim that Caine is discussing the limitations and potential risks of options for further escalating military operations with other officials. This is an attempt to ensure coordination and similar assessments among various agencies of the administration before meeting with the President.
