Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Tokyo on October 26 for a four-day official trip, at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaiji. During the visit, discussions are expected to take place on various developmental cooperations between Bangladesh and Japan, including the metro rail project and the procurement of defence equipment.

This information was revealed by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir, who was the chief guest at a seminar organised on Saturday (October 10) at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.

According to relevant sources, bilateral meetings will be held between Bangladesh and Japan during the visit. These meetings are likely to focus on strengthening the existing relations between the two countries, reviewing the progress of various development projects, and exploring future areas of cooperation.

Specifically, the development of metro rail infrastructure and cooperation related to the procurement of defence equipment may receive significant attention during the discussions. It is anticipated that this visit will further deepen the economic and strategic ties between Bangladesh and Japan.
