Dhaka, July 2025: In a historic decision, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a pilot Golden Visa scheme for Bangladeshi citizens, removing long-standing requirements such as property ownership or a business trade license.

According to official sources and media reports, eligible Bangladeshi nationals can now apply for the UAE Golden Visa by paying a one-time fee of AED 100,000 (approximately BDT 30 lakh). The application process is entirely online and does not require the applicant to be present in the UAE during submission.

This new scheme is currently exclusively open to citizens of Bangladesh and India, launched under the UAE’s strategic CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) framework to attract high-skilled talent and foster economic cooperation in South Asia.

Key Features:

  • No need to own property or hold a trade license
  • One-time payment of AED 100,000
  • 10-year renewable residence permit
  • Application is fully online
  • Open to professionals, entrepreneurs, freelancers, and creatives
  • Pilot program currently for Bangladesh and India only

Officials believe this initiative could greatly benefit Bangladeshi professionals, particularly in IT, education, medicine, arts, and freelancing sectors. The pilot’s success may expand the program to other nations soon.

For many, this opens the door to long-term residency in the UAE without complex real estate or business investments — a true game-changer for thousands of Bangladeshi families seeking better opportunities in the Gulf region.
