Discussed content creator Ashraful Alam, better known as Hero Alam, has already announced his candidacy from Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) seat in the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections. Initially, there were rumors that he will be elected as an independent candidate. But in the end he collected the nomination papers of ‘Amjanta’ party.

The Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer did not accept his nomination papers as he could not submit the form within the stipulated time on the last day of submission of nomination papers. This creates uncertainty about his participation in the election. Later, the judgment of the Appellate Division of the High Court put an end to that uncertainty.

On Monday (January 12), Hero Alam himself posted on social media confirming the High Court verdict. There he wrote, “Alhamdulillah, I have received the judgment from the High Court in favor of submitting nomination papers in appeal.”

Notably, Hero Alam submitted nomination papers as an independent candidate from Bogra for the first time in the 2018 11th National Assembly Elections. Though his candidature was rejected on scrutiny, it was later reinstated by a court order and he participated in the election wearing the ‘Singh’ symbol. However, he boycotted the election, alleging rigging on the polling day.

Later, Hero Alam participated in the by-elections held after the death of Akbar Hossain Pathan Farooq, Member of Parliament of Dhaka-17 Constituency. On the polling day of that election, he was attacked in a polling station.
