BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman is coming to Bogra after a long time of two decades. According to party sources, he will visit Bogra on January 11. Two responsible leaders of the district BNP have confirmed this.
After the visit to Bogra, he will go to Rangpur, where he is scheduled to visit the grave of martyr Abu Saeed. Besides, he has plans to visit Sylhet on January 20 of this month.
Notably, the ancestral home of martyred President Ziaur Rahman is located at Bagbari in Gabtali Upazila of Bogra. According to that source, Bogra has a family link with Tariq Rahman. He is contesting from Bogra-6 and Dhaka-17 constituencies for the first time in the upcoming National Assembly elections.
Bogra district BNP president Rezaul Karim Badshah said that Tariq Rahman will come to Bogra on January 11. The matter will be officially confirmed tomorrow, January 5.
Before this, Tariq Rahman last visited Bogra on December 24, 2006. Accordingly, after 19 years and 18 days, he is going to set foot in Bogra again. Apart from this, on January 12, he will participate in the public prayer organized at the Altafunnecha playground to pray for the soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
